To Me (but a little older),
Hey friend. It's the 27th of February, 2021. I'm just checking in from the past to see how you're doing.
As I'm writing this I have no idea how far forward I'm going to send this. I hope I send it to the one who needs to see this.
So, a quick synopsis of what's going on in your life, just in case this specific month has decided to slip your mind. It's 8pm EST on a rainy night in New England, you spent your day here doing your first RA Group Interview (I wonder how it all turned out?), and now you're listening to some Weeknd while writing this.
This month has felt really long, even though it is the shortest one. A lot of long days here, both physically and mentally. Hope is not all lost though in this month, you got your GI Bill! You got back to work with Gram, it was never the most fun but it was good money. You also got your first COVID-19 vaccine shot.
Speaking of COVID -
I hope that it's over. I know the vaccine rollout is well underway, and I'm included already, but I'm tired of this. It's put a lot of strain on me and my friends, and I'm ready for it to be done. I know you're probably years removed from it, and it hasn't really been thought of in terms to it's effect it's had on the last 350 days or so. I hope it's good.
Now, this might be embarrassing to read this many years later depending on how my future turns out, but I think I'm going to start growing out a man bun. This might be the longest my hair has been ever in my life, and I might as well try something new after doing something new last year. You've grown a lot as a person since leaving Vegas. I'm proud of what I've done in the last year. I hope you're proud of your growth.
To be honest, at this moment in my life I don't know what I want to do with my future, other than it being secure. Hopefully, it's on the right track. I hope that you're doing what makes you happy.
I don't think I have much else to say.
There's a lot that can go on in 5 years (see how I've decided how long to send it to?), I hope that it's good enough to write to the future about.
- You, but a little younger
P.S -
I already tried to look at this again to see if I could, turns out I got 48 hours to do so. Interesting.
