Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hey I hope you are well. You’re in your senior year of undergrad and you keep checking if you’ve been accepted for the MSW program. You are a case aide at Children’s Home and Aid and you’ve now started to experience some interesting cases. You have received the first dose of the vaccine and are receiving the second in March. You are hoping you will see the day we no longer have to wear masks. This is your last weekend working at The Body Shop. You just started volunteering with the Chicago Community Jail Support and you said something embarrassing and maybe politically wrong on the first day so now you can’t stop thinking about it. You brought your friend from The Body Shop and you hope you guys can become closer friends. You are awaiting your adderall prescription and you’re nervous how it will make you feel. You’re sitting next to Pete in bed, you have been dating for almost 5 years. You talk about marriage and all those good things and feel both excited & nervous. You are currently incredibly frustrated about your heater and you may need to move in May. You have a foot appointment for your toe on Friday and you’re considering the surgery. You also are meeting a new friend named Bri for lunch, and then you will babysit KJ. You haven’t been feeling well for a few months now, but it’s probably just depression from the pandemic and the season. We have been in a cold snap for the last few weeks. Life is okay, but not amazing. I hope in 5 years, I will be comfortably in a job, married, maybe thoughts of a kid? At least 2 cats and have a bought home or built a home. I hope I have done some fun traveling and got to see some new countries, but mostly I hope I have some sincere happiness. I hope my anxieties and obsessions aren’t so prominent. I guess we will just have to see what life brings then! :)
