Dear Future Amy,
It’s me - Rachael! This is actually my second attempt at writing you a letter as the first one went to your Hotmail which you currently can’t remember the password to. In the eventuality you remember said password, I will try to make the content of this letter a little different...
The date is the 7th of February 2021. The time: 10:36pm. We are currently separated by one border, a global pandemic and your mercenary annual leave rota. The last time we saw each other face to face was over a year ago no when you came to visit Wycombe. We went around Burnham Beeches and just did some wholesome activities. I am sure when this whole saga is over and COVID-19 has ****** off we’ll do all that again (although hopefully not in wycombe as I’ve seen way too much of it for a lifetime).
You Chris and Lilo are currently living happily in Cardiff. Other than some complaints with Chris’ medical marvel toe, a crazy work schedule and family issues to write a book about, it sounds like you are doing quite well.
You amaze me all the time with your drive and success and it’s amazing to think of where you might be when you read this letter. Perhaps you could get your assistant to read it aloud to you or maybe Alexa would do it - oh the wonders of the future!
I’m reading 1984 currently (because I’m cultured/bored out my ******* mind) so I thought I would get my predictions in fast. I have no insights into the technological or societal advances a mere 5 years would bring so instead I shall I focus on my speciality - other people’s business. I predict:
- You and Chris are still together (possibly married? Engaged? Dear god please not with child?)
- You’ve began your own empire (your current interests are candles, drug dealer auction items & property so not sure which direction it will take yet lmao)
- You’re still in your beloved Cardiff of course and maybe still in Chris’ gran’s house. The uncle is no longer there. I’m imagining a breaking point at some point where he’s given an ultimatum??
- My Spanish is conversational at best but I have some tragic travelling stories and am dealing with ageing badly
- your brother is yet to start a business empire with your dad. You are yet to be recruited as their sales person.
Hope we can read this letter together and you can congratulate me on my expert predictions.
Lots of love,
2021 Rachael xx
