A letter from February 6th, 2021

Time Travelling — over 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear future me, It's February 6, 2021. You are 6 months away from being 25. It's a wonderful yet confusing time in your life. I'm currently sitting in my living room at Park Rd, drinking coffee and working on my masters program. You're so unhappy in your current job and feel trapped, but your masters program gives you hope that you will one day be doing what you love. I hope by now you're in a job that you see yourself turning into a wonderful career, where you don't DREAD going to work everyday. I hope your job gives you peace and happiness and some level of fulfillment. I can't wait to see what you're up to. You're contemplating quitting your job all together and just working at Flourshop. I wonder if you ever made that jump... I hope that by now you have somehow paid off all your student debt. That was such a burden on you for so long, and I know you've always had a goal to be student debt free by 30. I have a feeling you've accomplished this or are very close to. At this time in your life, you're very concerned with the safety and health of your family. You love them with all your heart. I hope that they are all happy and healthy and safe when you're 30. Your Dad is in Germany right now and is going to be heading back to the states in 5 days - which is such a relief to you. You hated him being so far away. I hope his return doesn't bring drama with you know who. I hope you're still madly in love with your first love, happily married and planning to start a family. You've always seen your future with him and at this point at almost 25, you're still so certain he's the one for you. I pray that whatever happens, that you're happy and fulfilled with yourself first. I hope you got to go to Hawaii and or Italy by now, and if you haven't, plan a trip for within the next year. Life is too short! You're almost 3 weeks into your big diet and fitness journey. I hope you've sustained the healthy lifestyle that has given you so much joy, energy and confidence. I've always joked that I would have a funeral themed 30th birthday. Did I? While it's funny, I do think that turning 30 will be such a wonderful blessing. I can't wait to be "in my thirties." But I'm also really excited to live in my 20s. (BTW is TikTok still a thing?? Did the your stock in Dojecoin explode and now you're rich??) Life is good, God is good, everything happens for a reason, and life will always be changing. Continue to be positive, thankful, malleable and fierce. With much love, 24.5 year old me. <3
