Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I know I sent you an email just a couple of weeks ago but I'm currently browsing future jobs and careers and I think you are in university as you are reading this. So hey its me, 16 year old you. Currently I am really drawn to midwifery. It seems like the most rewarding job you could possibly have and I love babies so much. I think it would be fulfilling, it would test me well and test my strength of character, and keep me very busy. Right now I am not busy in lockdown, and it is hard. If you did decide to do that, you would be in your 3rd and final year of uni I think. Unless you took a gap year, which you probably will, so you're on your 2nd year. If you didn't decide to do that or it didn't work out, what are you doing? Do you have a career plan? How do you even decide? My top 12 recommended careers according to a test I took are: 1) Criminologist 2) Town planner 3) Advertising art director 4) Midwife 5) Barrister 6) Diplomatic service officer 7) Advertising media planner 8) Play therapist 9) Solicitor 10) Writer 11) Training manager 12) Fine artist There's quite a mix in there, so it'll be exciting to find out what happens, and perhaps interesting for you to look back on. I'm not sure what about me says town planner, but if I did that I would definitely work on an environmental aspect to create more green spaces, not the opposite. Maybe if I became a very successful midwife, and delivered lots of babies, I would have to become a town manager too and then build lots of houses to deal with the overpopulation issue. Doesn't sound very eco tbh. Whatever you're doing, I hope you're happy. That's the most important thing. And remember, I'm proud of you whatever happens, whatever you do. Love, M.
