A letter from January 27th, 2021

Time Travelling — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Hey Me, I just shot a letter off for 2022. It was hopeful. But then I read my old letters. Kinda a downer not going to lie. But what do I expect? So here’s a letter for five years in the future. You would’ve graduated by now. You should have a job. An apartment. A dog. A car. I wonder how many relationships you’ve been in since now. Let’s take a guess and see how far off we were. Let’s go with a solid... two. Yeah I think that’s pretty accurate. Obviously there’s the usual, I hope life is treating you swell and all is content and sure. I wonder who your friends are. I wonder what your relationship with our little sister will be like. Wow. She’ll be 20 when you get this. She’s still stuck at 10 for me. Will dad still be in your life? Will mom be back in your life? Will Rick be there I wonder how alone you’ll feel. I wonder how lonely you’ll actually be. You’ve always driven past those mansion houses with lampposts for street lights and fountains in front yards. You’ve always wanted to live in one of those houses. Raise a big family in one. Paint a nursery with someone you love. I wonder if you’ll still want that Well future us: I hope 23 is good. Gonna be honest here, I’ll be a little disappointed if you’re married and you don’t have a salaried job yet. We’ve talked about this. I hope we’ve kept up with the journaling and video diaries. All smiles future me. Just all smiles.
