A letter from January 14th, 2021

Hi *******, First off, you’re old and probably think that I’m cringe. I’m cringe on purpose. I hope you got that mf mohawk eventually or something. This is set for like five years, so you’re probably like 20. How does it feel to be old. It's really painful to have to hold back all the swearing i’d like to be saying to you rn, so I’m trusting you to fill them all in in your head so you don’t disgrace me, because as we both know I am perfect in every way and since you’re me, so are you. Take a moment to reflect on your music taste or life choices or something. Who are you friends with, who are you dating, what music do you like? I hope you’re on hormones something by now, *****. How does it feel to still be like 5’5? I have an incessant need to bully you to avoid the intense vulnerability of knowing that time has passed. I bet you don’t even remember the day I wrote this. How’s your diet coke addiction? What do you dress like? What are your poli you know what why am I asking questions like you can actually asking them, so you can do some introspection or something? Just cope with it. How does the knowledge that time is passing for you and one day you’ll be old, and that you can never go back to the past and your memories are the only proof you have that anything really happened? How does it feel knowing that the person who’s writing this to you functionally doesn’t exist in the same way you do? Enjoy the existential crisis. Maybe I’ll write another one of these that isn’t an assignment for school so I can speak freely. You’ll find out. -u
