A letter from January 2nd, 2021

Dear FutureMe, Happy New Year! Also, happy almost-30th-birthday. How are you feeling about that? How's Matt? I hope you two can celebrate together next month. After 2020, I can't begin to fathom what the end of this year is going to look like, let alone 5 years from now. I hope that I've moved into a career that I enjoy, maybe I've gotten another degree? I hope I have balance in my life though. Am I dating anyone? Am I engaged??? Is the sister dating/engaged/married?? Right now I'm dating S, but it is very new. Still, I have a feeling he may stick around for a while. Do you even know who S is or are you going to have to dig into your archives? Do you still talk to your college friends? How's P? What about your summer friends? N, T, D? Do you still live in Mass? Are you in a city? Have you hiked a bunch?? Do you live near the mountains??? Sorry for all of the questions. I don't know what your life is like at all and it scares me a little. I just really hope that you've made progress. My biggest insecurity right now is my lack of direction, so hopefully I've figured that out for you. God, how was the recent election? Scary times. I'm going to work hard for you, okay? I know I've said it in the past and I haven't really held up my end of the bargain, but with my 30s looming I want to set you up to be thirty and flirty and thriving (god, i hope you have a mark ruffalo type character in your life to move into your dollhouse dreamhouse with) ((that reminds me! How's A?)) I'm getting kind of stressed from writing this so I'm going to go. I should go apply to new jobs and clean the apartment and take a long walk to set you up for success. I love you! Love, Me
