Dear FutureMe,
Hey.
It is 12:40 AM, 12/25/2020. And let's just be real, this year has been so confusing (f**k COVID). You are writing college essays now, and you have a couple acceptances, but you are waiting on the money. Where did you go to college? You didn't expect high school senior year to be this way, but then again, everyone says high school is nothing anyway.
Are you friends with your high school people still? Are you fit and happy with your lifestyle, or do you still feel constantly burdened by tiredness and pain? Is your mental health where it should be? Never give up. Please.
What did you study? Have you gone with medicine, or did you stray away (did law take you? remember, Sonia Sotomayor's kinda ur idol haha)? Are you having as much fun as you currently hope for?
Have you come out to more people yet? Have you truly loved someone yet? You're not finding much romance in TN, so please tell me that changes.
I'm kinda struggling with what life means. Have you figured it out? You better be actually reading some books by now? Have you made time for what's important yet, not just school? Are you religious (that would be a shocker honestly)? If you are conservative now.... well then, time hurt didn't do you well.
I write this letter wondering what to say, but I guess the biggest thing is: are you surprised? I want my life to surprise me, make me question it all. Don't be afraid of the surprises and what may scare you. It's just what you need. All the love, 17 year old you.
