A letter from December 23rd, 2020

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Hey hun, It’s me. You. I’m writing this in 2020. Yes, you heard me right. Just when you thought you’d never have to relive any of the terrible things that have happened to you from that year, BAM! A letter from the past, from the absolute lowest point of your life, the worst year of your life & quite frankly, the worst year of many lives. Now you’re probably dreading a story time of the absolute rollercoaster ride of 2020. But there a just too many stories to tell about this year & what happened to us. How do you fit 365 days worth of disaster into a letter? Global, national, social & personal issues were all packaged up & sent to the entire world this year. We could write an entire series on this, but we won’t. We won’t. But we are gonna wake up one day, baby. We’re gonna shake off the depression, the pain, the trauma. Everything. So wherever you’re reading from, I hope you’ve grown. I hope you wake up next year, the year after, or whenever the **** you’re ready & learn to love yourself in ways no one else could. I hope that you are doing whatever the **** you want with the confidence we’ve always dreamed to have. I hope we make the changes we needed to make to be who we want to be. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s this: To live carelessly & confidently, as if each day is our last & to love endlessly & truthfully, to love others - most importantly, to love yourself. You’ve learned the hard way this year. You experienced so much pain & it wears you down everyday. But we’re gonna do it & we’re gonna fight everyday so that one day, we’ll get to look back on this letter & realize we’re gonna be in a much better place, a much better state of mind. 2020 wasn’t the year we wanted, but maybe it was the year we needed. I love you, future self. I may not love me all the way yet, but I have faith that I will. 2020 has taught me to have faith, to keep going because time doesn’t stop for anyone. Especially not for you. Live carelessly & lovingly. You deserve happiness. We deserve happiness. I deserve happiness. Xoxo, You
