A letter from December 23rd, 2020

Dear FutureMe, Wow! Hello there. This is you, but from 5 years ago. 2025 seems ages from now, but at the same time it feels like 2015 was just yesterday. Crazy, right? Where do I begin? Well, I just hope you’re happy, really. When I think about you I imagine that you’re married, living with your loved one (and right now I really hope it’s my current girlfriend because I’m pretty sure she’s the love of my life, what do you think?) and in a nice job. Well, it’s OK if life isn’t like I planned, honestly nothing in our life has worked as planned, has it? Like I said, I just hope you’re genuinely happy most of the time, because no one is happy all the time. Are you speaking Spanish fluently by now? Well, not to put any pressure on you but I hope you are and also learning a fourth language, Italian maybe? Well, this isn’t priority so don’t be upset if you’re still not there. But it would be cool to speak 4 languages, I think you’ll still agree with me on that one! How’s our family? I hope everyone is happy and healthy. I can’t believe the kids are teenagers now, I mean what??? Be a cool sister to them!! And I hope the little one is thriving and exceeding expectations, being able to communicate with us and just genuinely happy and enjoying life. Hope mom and dad are there for you, and that they’re finally getting the rest they deserve, working less and at least sleeping properly. Be there for them no matter what. I know you will. Crazy how I don’t even know what country you are living at right now! Don’t forget to explore the world whenever you have the chance! How many countries have you visited since you were me? Most importantly, don’t forget to be kind! And loving! And grateful! Remember God is with you every single second and you can trust Him. Please talk to him. He wants to hear you and He made me remind you that you’re precious and important to this world. You are not alone. Are you fully vegan now? I really hope so!! Please continue fighting for animal lives, they need us! Well dear A... You’re beautiful and strong, we both know what we’ve been through and I’m sure a beautiful future awaits you. Keep on going, if you ever feel alone, remember that I’m with you. I understand you and I care about you. Make me proud, all you have to do is take care of yourself and be kind to others.
