A letter from December 19th, 2020

Dear Rebecca (Bex), Hey! Have the years finally been good to you?. I hope so, you wrote this when you were only 19, sadly you were struggling with a lot of things but you hid your emotions so well not many people saw the real unhappy version of you. You did so well getting up each morning and you’ve survived every single day up to now no matter how hard it is for you, I hope you’re finally so so so proud of yourself! You should be! Have you finally got that house you always dreamed of? What about your first baby? :) I bet she or he is so adorable, you’ve finally got the love you always dreamed of and a forever best friend! Are you a midwife now? You so badly wanted to be a midwife and you always said “ I want to be a midwife “ in future to everyone that used to ask you questions about your college life. You could genuinely see yourself becoming one. I hope you’ve finally got a good guy in your life that treats you so well and gives you everything you deserve. I hope he respects you and reminds you of how much you’re loved by him and the kids. If you’re still with the boy you were with at 19 I’m so happy for you and I’m glad it worked out even when you thought it wouldn’t. You’re actual proof that you should never give up on people! That’s amazing. Also, I’m glad he stuck around even after you found out you were pregnant, if he didn’t...well, you’re still an amazing mother to your baby girl or boy. You dreamed of being a mummy, I’m sorry you went through 2 miscarriages alone and crying in a bathroom. I really hope things have finally changed for you, I really do. You deserve everything that’s good in the world. Do you have a job that you love? I hope so. If you don’t love it then why work there? That’s something to think about. Are you engaged? Married? If you are then omg!!! Congratulations. You thought it’d never happen. I hope life keeps on blessing you and the people you love! Keep on living! I’m so happy you’re still here! Carry on dreaming big and proving everyone around you that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT TO!!! I love you, 25 year old me. Oh and by the way, happy birthday ! X
