Dear Future Me,
Well, long time no see, huh? It's your fifteen-year-old self, here to talk to you a little bit and ask a few things.
So, you'll be 20. Two years into college, one year off from being able to legally gamble. How's it feel to be old? Loser.
Right now, you're sitting in fifth-period Bear Radio, a freshman in high school. It's the last day before you get off on Christmas Break, and you aren't doing anything except writing this letter. You're an alternate in OAP, you love your mom, you're best friends with Madi. Has any of this changed? I bet little things have, of course. Probably big things, as well. We in ourselves are evidence of change, and right now I hope you remember what it was like to be ten. You were a weirdo.
Anyway, here are a few insightful questions, to just help you ponder how far you've come.
Have you finally figured out what you want to do with your life? I have a good assortment of passions, but I have no idea what I want to do. So many choices, nothing seems plausible.
Are you still suffering the effects of Covid-19? I wouldn't doubt it.
What is the world like? Right now, it's kind of wild, and I would just like you to take a moment and think of how much has changed since then.
Oh, and you have a ton of cats. Jellybean, Laurel, Mic, Jinx. Whisker went missing a few days ago.
Anyway, I think I'm done talking. I hope you're still alive to see this one day. And if you aren't, I just hope you're safe wherever.
Love you,
Your younger self
