A letter from December 11th, 2020

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, It’s December 11, 2020. It’s been a year full of whirlwind. It all started in January when Kobe Bryant died. February you went to Oklahoma to watch your friend get sworn into service for the army. You hated Oklahoma lol. Mom had a cancer scare over the summer. I bought my first house in March 2020 and on December 30 we finally get the keys. Grandma is in the hospital as we speak. We found out she has more health problems than what was shown. You are currently secretly terrified of losing her. Let’s not forget the reason you work from home-corona virus and it made the world change drastically. Now instead of forgetting your wallet it’s forgetting to bring your mask. It’s the year bad bunny took over and you have an obsession with Anuel and Karol G. It’s TikTok took over because everyone’s been in quarantine. In March you were promoted as an accountant and you struggled but you made it. You cried almost every day wondering if you can accomplish this. You realized Jinxy is getting old and she may not make it into next year. She is your everything. Your husband lost his job in October and got it back in December. He worked for a company in Tampa airport and he hated it. You secretly struggled in getting pregnant. This is the year you lost your best friend and yes it hurts still. Hopefully 2025 brought you happiness because 2020 secretly brought you down into a deep depression. You lost your confidence in your self and I really hope it comes back. I hope you’re looking back when reading this realize that you’ve grown into a better person. I hope in 5 years you’re sitting down drinking coffee with your little one running around playing and look back at this letter at the 2020 you and realize how far you accomplished and that 2020 was a way for you to look back and reflect.
