A letter from December 6th, 2020

Dear Future Me, Lets talk a little about your past. You have had a really messed up past and honestly some things you didn't need to put up with but you did. you overcame many bad things in life that has shaped you into the person you are now in the present but that doesn't mean its over and that you've stopped growing because you haven't at all. there will be a lot more things you will experience. you have also had many accomplishments like having 3 wonderful children even if being with their fathers didn't work out. also I know going to prison was bad it helped you in the long run and you obtained your GED! you felt so good when you passed and even helped others to get theirs. you overcame bad relationships and bad situations. you kept pushing to better yourself and pushed through. once out of prison you decided to pursue a college degree to further your education and to gain knowledge in the social work field where you've always wanted to work. to help others who are struggling and give them hope by hearing your story and seeing you succeed. you are a success story! your challenges right now are needing to keep up more on certain tasks and juggling work school and trying to get a home for your children and yourself. also your fiancé is in prison and its been really hard for you being away from him. he is your support and helps you everyday know your worth and helps you keep pushing forward! In 5, 10 or 20 years from now you will have many degrees because you want to continue learning and gaining education in all different kinds of fields. you will have a very good job in social work and psychology and you will help so many people and touch so many lives. you will have a house to finally call home for you and your children. in 8 years your fiancé will be home. he will come home to a stabile foundation. and he will then help you finish the life you had started for you both. it will be easier for you now. you will have many family members proud of you but the ones that will mean the most will be your kids and husband. you will forever have them by your side. My advice to my present self will be to keep moving and pushing forward, you are an amazing woman and everything will get better and easier. you will be genuinely happy and successful in life and have the life you have always dreamed of.!
