Dear FutureMe,
It's you. Writing this on November 24th, 2020 laying in bed because you're currently in quarantine. I just finished my 1st semester of college here at IWU and it's been great. I've made so many friends and memories and loved every second of it. I can't imagine what life looks like for you right now. As you're reading this i'm sure it feels like just yesterday was today. I literally mean it when I say I have no idea what life looks like for you. God does not work to my plans, but I know wherever I'm at it's good.
Spiritually, I hope you're doing great and on fire for Jesus. I hope you're accomplishing all your dreams. That you are doing some type of ministry right now. For me, I'm planning on teaching in a christian school and doing camps, but who knows what that looks like for you. I hope you know to trust God always and that he's gotten you through college financially, and academically. If not, then that's okay.
Side track: Claire and Gracie are about to bring me food because I'm in quarantine. YOU ARE BLESSED WITH THE BESTEST OF FRIENDS DO NOT LOSE THEM. My biggest blessing is my friends; they're literally amazing. Please let them be lifetime friends. If for whatever you've lost touch with someone, call them. Also, pay it forward. My friends are constantly there for me, getting me food, presents, and just always buying me stuff and I always feel bad I can't pay them back. Please somehow send them each a really nice gift or take them out to eat. Also, check up on your small group girls, they should be in college now, take time to give each of them a call.
Also i'm curious if you're with anyone. Hopefully you're happily with someone that you plan on spending the rest of your life with. If not that's okay. God will bring you someone whatever timing he sees fit. I just want you to be with someone who is also on fire for Jesus who you both will constantly build eachother up.
I also wonder how much you've grown as a person, college has already brought out a lot more potential in me. If grown so much in my confidence and loving myself. Hopefully you've learned more of your limits and strengths. Dr.Lo mentioned in our one on one to be careful to not burn out. So hopefully that's not the case in the past five years. Take a break, but also don't forget what brings you joy and what you're passionate about. Don't become comfortable with doing nothing, I fear that's what quarantine is doing to me now with everything closed. I miss serving so much with the church being closed, but it's also nice to know I can sleep in on Sundays. Serving is worth it tho, I love being with the students and building those relationships. So take what you're passionate about and do it, just don't over do it. Remember to just have faith and to always lean on God when it comes to every part of your life. Have joy always. You are loved so much and never forget who you were created to be. Live genuinely with kindness, humility, love, and joy.
