Dear FutureMe,
hopefully this email doesn't find you, but who knows, maybe you won't ditch this email in the next 5 years (you really should)! anyways, 5 years from now you should be nearing the end of your college career (you're currently a junior in high school), I hope it went well, and I hope we picked correctly. I also hope you have a boyfriend by now, it seems ridiculous we haven't picked one up by this point (maybe it's our standards, maybe it's just us).
I love you very much, even if I don't particularly like myself right now. Please please apologize more often, you already do, but you **** up and over think wayyyyy too much, and I think being honest with the people you think you hurt about how you feel should help.
How's the beard going? Is it big and beautiful now? As a trans man I know our beard has limited potential as it is, but at 16 we've already got a pretty good one going so I hope it only gets better. Also, is our hair like fully brown now? If it's not, we might wanna approach mom on who our actual dad is because I'm like 80% sure this is not how genetics works.
Have you done anything great yet? I feel like everyone has delusions of grandeur (if not, maybe we're just really THAT self-centered) but I feel like we have the ability to do something big.
There should also be a new president by the time you'll get this, please tell me it's a woman, I don't think I can take another old white man, I might ******* combust. Don't get me wrong, I'm spectacularly happy Trump didn't get re-elected this time around but ****, I sure don't think Biden or Kamala are progressive enough to fix anything either, just smart enough to not **** it up even more.
Go write mom a birthday card if you haven't already (it's tomorrow) and call her and tell her (and dad) how much you love them. And while you're at it, go do some self care, run yourself a bath (if you have a bath tub) or maybe go listen to the adventure zone for a throwback! also make sure you eat something good for dinner.
Love, Sam :)
