Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, What is my life purpose? My purpose in life is to bring joy & humor to others and make sure that I do my best to fight, or assist, others in making sure that they are heard, valued, and respected. What is my goal personally and professionally? My goal personally is to change the trajectory of my family tree from poverty to prosperity. Not looking for riches, but wealth and the ability to live our lives without fear of utilities being cut off or food not being on the table. One where we can afford to take time away from work and enjoy each other as a family. One where my wife feels supported by her husband and is free to pursue her dreams and aspirations instead of having to set aside her pursuits while I pursue mine. Where my children know that their father is active and present in their life and that fathers are as much a part of their education from pre-K thru College (if they decide to go) as their mother is. Where I can lead by example for others Dad's, Black or otherwise, that being a Dad is the greatest honor on this earth and there is no shame in fulfilling that role to the best of your ability. And where my children know that I truly support them and will do anything for them. Professionally my goal is to work up the corporate ladder. Not for personal gain, but to again show that Black people do belong. Where I can be the example to younger people of color in Tech. Where they can look at an Org chart and say "I do belong". Where they can reach out to me for advice and get an honest, down-to-earth answer instead of Manager/Executive speak. What is my plan to get there? Complete the Temple MBA program. Get into Management by age 32. Get an Executive MBA if necessary to move into Executive Leadership. Continue to support Diversity and Inclusion through my current hiring and recruiting efforts. Work <50 hours to give myself adequate time to spend with my family. Take vacations. Take time off to volunteer at my children's school. Attend kids sporting events. Attend every school event. Continue to partner with my children's teacher's so that they know we are adamant about quality education for our kids both in-school and at-home. Work from home as needed to enable my Wife to pursue her dreams. Take time off to take handle household tasks to ensure my Wife can handle her professional business. Take my Wife on dates. Take my children on family and individual dates.
