Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Today is the 2020 election. We are in the midst of the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic. European countries are on their second lockdown, while here we have sports and restaurants still. People are not taking this seriously; just this weekend, for Tina's wedding dress shopping, no one wore masks and we were packed in a car... in a Trump caravan on Coral way, if you can remember. Black Lives Matter profoundly impacted my perspective on a lot of things, and I wish I would have understood their message sooner. It's a shame that SO many black Americans had to die for people (myself included) to wake up! It shouldn't have taken George Floyd's *****... Hopefully we can be past this in the future. I have been working from Home since mid-March and I love being with my pets and not having to wake up early, or drive to work (or get dressed up haha). I do love my job; I get to help students every day in a low stress, low stakes environment. My mental health has really been much better (even though I did have a little low yesterday... Abuela did a number on me for not going to see her every day... even though we just did a vacation for her and no one else talks to her...) but overall I feel better on a daily basis. I'm DMing my 2 Disney campaigns and I love doing it! Ruben and I are doing much better, and we're communicating more. I think he's coming around to understanding things. He's definitely a good person, and I should work hard to remember that. It's not always his fault; it's just easy for me to blame him because he's always there. I'm really worried about what this country is going to look like in 1 year, 3 years, 5 years... based off the results today. I feel like I'm living in a History book. Stay safe... Be happy :) --Jessi
