A letter from October 26th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, hey girl. this is so weird to write to me in 5 years. I hope the last 5 years have been nothing but great. obviously, I have questions I really hope you can answer, but first I want to tell you about where I'm at in life. I'm 19, & I'm a business major with a concentration in marketing at uscb. I'm not really enjoying it so far (remember carrington, the roommate from hell?) but I have hogan to keep me in good spirits... sort of. we've been together for 21 months & we're still in our fighting phase. some days are amazing, but some days are really upsetting. like I'm writing you this & we're fighting now, over something so stupid but he stormed out of my room & refuses to sleep with me. so annoying. anyways, I'm still going through it by being away from family. as of now Nicholas plans on coming to school here too. but I really miss mom, dad, bruno, & Marley. you probably are interested in the current events, so here's a run down before I get to my questions for you... 1. its 2020, so obviously the biggest thing is covid. as of today, the total cases in the us is 8.7 million & deaths are 225,000. the only person I know that has tested positive is mom, & she recovered fine. we're still wearing masks everywhere. still social distancing 2. Joe Biden & Donald Trump (& Kanye West) are running for president. Election Day is actually in 8 days, but the polls have Biden up. I voted for Biden 3. the nearest gas station is priced at $1.90/gallon 4. black lives matter is a hugeee issue right now 5. tiktok is the biggest social media app, & among us is the biggest gaming app 6. I drive a 2013 Kia Soul 7. I'm typing this on my 2019 MacBook Pro 8. I currently have the iPhone X, but hoping to get the iPhone 12 pro max soon 9. my favorite celebrities are the kardashian/jenners 10. big brother all stars is on & Cody, Enzo, & Nicole are f3. I'm rooting for Nicole to win 11. you work at Olive Garden in togo making $12/hour plus tips now, I have questions for you. I'm going to write in parenthesis what I HOPE your answers are lol 1. how is it being 24? (ughh I'm old don't remind me) 2. where do you live? what kind of house do you live in? why did you choose this location? (in either nyc or back home in Charlotte. I live in an apartment or condo in the city because I always dreamed of living in the heart of the city) 3. what do you do for a living? how much do you make? (I'm a successful graphic designer making $50000/year) 4. where are your degrees from? (uscb undergrad & unc graduate/masters) 5. are you still with hogan? are you happy with him? (yes & we've fixed all of our issues that youre going through now. we're engaged & very happy) 6. what kind of car do you drive? (g wagon) 7. did college ever get better for you? (yes, just hang in there & put yourself out there) 8. did you ever lose weight & gain confidence? (yes, I worked hard & I'm confident as ever) 9. do you have kids? are you still against having kids? (NO. still against having my own, but I think other peoples babies are cute) 10. how many dogs do you have? (a hundred. jk but probably like 2) 11. are you still keeping up with skincare? you better have the most bomb skin of any 24 year old (yes, its still a very expensive routine) 12. is mom still your best friend? (yes, 100%) 13. what's your favorite thing to do in your free time? (explore the city) 14. what has been the biggest event to happen so far in your life? (imma let you answer this one, future me) 15. are you genuinely happy (yes, very happy) 16. would you do anything differently? (no, yolo) 17. what's something you wish you could tell me? 18. what do you hope the next 5 years for you brings? thats all I can think of at the moment. I'm sure I'll think of a bunch more after I click send, but whatever. I just want to tell you that i have been through so much in 19 years & I'm still standing. I pray that these next 5 years bring nothing but perfection & happiness. after bending over backwards to make everyone else happy, you definitely deserve some peace. may you be content with your life choices. try not to miss me too much, even though I bet you miss me more than anything. I'm sending you so much love & positivity. take a step back from work & have fun, get out there & enjoy life while you're in your prime. you are an incredible person doing great things. remember, I love you & look up to you.
