A letter from September 26th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, I am sending this message on the 26/09/2020 and it is 10.46pm. It is crazy that at this point you will be 22. I hope you are doing well in life and I hope you are living the dream. I assume you went to collage, if not? I don't know then. Anyways, I wonder what you are studying/studied? Did you study in Ireland? Message the gang that I have now if you haven't spoken with them in a while or in years maybe. I'm talking Emma, Katie, Megan, Gianna and Zahra. I wonder how they are and what they will do. Little life update from now; I kinda messed up. Megan (older) has more difficulty because of me and because I messaged that weirdo Malinda. Check up on her as well! I wonder what the family situation is like? Did we lose anyone? Ivy and Holly are very cute as well so I hope they are still happy in 5 years. Any relationships? At this point I would consider myself a lesbian but I do think I might be a bit ace or aro or something so what are you now? Is coronavirus still around. Today there was 5 deaths and that's the most it's been since August 6th. I am still in school and there is no plans for leaving anytime soon. Did I get to finish the school year? How has your mental health been? Currently it is good, I am realising that I was starting to get burnout and I wasn't eating dinner often so I'm going to put a stop to that. Hopefully I managed to, fingers crossed. Where have you been now? At this moment, I have been on the countries with the cruise, fuerteventura and china! Did I get to go on my sixth year holiday. I am really excited for it and the plan is Sicily but I can just cross my fingers for now. Where do you live now? I know I had lots of thoughts of moving out the day I turned 18 but at this moment I think I am most likely to stay where I am (1 Saint Columbanus Place) because of the convienience. Any partners? I'm not even sticking in gender cause 5 years from now I'll probably be a lot different. I'm single as a Pringle now and I'm happy with that. How about in the year (class group), anyone having/had big life updates? Is anyone dead? Or had a baby? At the moment Chloe Day and Becky are the only ones having babies. Becky has only 2 months to go until she has the baby. It's crazy to think that she is going to be going on 5 now! I'm not planning on having any kids in my 5 year plan but you never know. Do you have a kid or are you pregnant? Crazy times. I'm not sure what else to say but I hope you have some form of fitness, a hobby and a group of supportive people around you. Oh! And are you fluent as gaelige? I really hope you are. I am going to put in more of an effort to ensure you are. This is long but anyways... Were you ever homeless again? Suicidal? I hope not but just in case or if you are now. Just know that I am so so so proud of you and the fact that you are here at age 22 when you didn't think you'd make it past 14 is something to be proud of. Don't ever feel ashamed of who you are or the choices you made and just please be you. Write another one of these and keep thriving! 17 year old Sophie
