A letter from September 7th, 2020

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hi. It’s the 13 year old version of you. It’s Monday 7th of September and exams are in a week and my birthday is this Saturday. I told mum I didn’t want to do anything for my birthday but she insisted that I go to LC w friends this Friday. I do want to go but it’s kind of awkward. I mean they are my friends. I hang out w a lot of people but I don’t have fixed friend groups that literally everyone in my year has??? I’m friends with people from different friend groups and don’t like to commit to one because I want to hang out w more than one person. This ends up with me being the kind of “no man’s land” person, which while beneficial, kinda means that when people make plans with people from their own friend groups, I don’t have a specific one. I feel awkward inviting them because they all have their own friend groups and we just hang out together going to school and back and I sit with them on diff days and we all went to the same primary. So idk if I’m being dramatic and I rly should be studying for exams right now and I have a feeling that I’m going to be that person who hates birthdays. I try not to tell people about mine because I’d rather they don’t do anything or remember because I make an effort for them not to than I telling them and then forgetting and not doing anything on their own volition. So yeah. I wish you could send me an email on what to do cuz idk if I should invite them or pretend I just forgot. Hope u did well on your yearly exams!!! Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 honestly so stressed that I’m procrastinating. Byeeeee
