Dear FutureMe,
So right now is a pretty rough time. Corona has taken over, I can't be with my friends, and I feel lost and alone. I'm a junior and I have no idea what I'm gonna do with my life. I feel all this pressure around me to get a good job and make lots of money to provide for my family. But they don't seem supportive of what I wanna do. I wanna be a cinematographer. I wanna move to LA or NYC to become part of the film industry. I wanna start my life anew in a big city and make new friends and just stop living such a boring life. I want to open myself up to new opportunities and become something more than what's provided to me here on Guam. I love my family and friends and if you really think about it, I have a great life. I just feel like I want more than what I'm getting. I wanna make a difference in the world and be a positive influence for others. I know you probably don't want to hear about your boring and sad past life but I'm just really hoping that as you're reading this you are in a place where your happy, where you have good friends and a good career and love what you are doing and how you are living your life. I hope you are happy and don't worry as much about your mental health. Hopefully you're taking care of yourself and aren't letting peer pressure get the best of you. I hope you have finally figured out who you are and are not trying to please others by being someone you're not. Anyway, just remember to smile, stay positive, and stay true to yourself. Happy 21st birthday!!
Love, 15-year-old you
P.S. I know you love alcohol but don't drink too much:)
