A letter from August 24th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, 2020. What a crazy year. But I don´t know wether we will ever fully get back our normal. I believe parts of crazy will become normal. But truly, I don´t know. Who does? Noone knows what bushfires, Trump, protests, and a pandemic will do to us. People say "in the darkest of times, light shines the brightest". But hope is hard to fin sometimes. Climate change probably can´t be stopped anymore and Trump has already done so much bad within four years. What if he gets reelected? And if not, what if Biden isn´t as much better as we thought? The reelection takes place in 3 days. But I decide to send this now. And I´m not even American but oh boy, things over there are bad... But let´s get more personal. Five years... how do people make five year plans? I don´t even know what I want to study in a year or which university I would like to attend. Or wether I would like to do a gap year? I´m a mess. I hope you´re less of a mess. And that maybe you´re in your first relationship. Or in the second? Or third? Or maybe you´re still vibing on your own. I hope you´re still in contact with Emmy. I truly believe we can be best friends forever. I want to know what university I attended, what I studied, wether I like it and what´s my job. And I´m thrilled to find out. Send some hope my way. Hope to survive 2020. Hope in humanity. I truly love you. Lini
