Dear FutureMe,
This year has been tough for most of not all of us. The Corona virus changed our lives from being mostly outdoors to being mostly indoors and be afraid of contracting the virus. I'm doing my first year at Wits University and I'm feeling the pressure of a 3rd year, but through God's help I've been excelling in my studies. I wrote this letter on the 22st of August 2020 at 12h00 midnight, was reading a book by Melissa Steyn for my Anthropology studies. Two days from my I'll be celebrating my birthday, I am so excited! But at the same time feeling sad coz none of my friends will be there, Kamkgelo said she was busy and also Theresa. Last year I lost MamThando my spiritual mother, I will never forget her she is my love and may her soul continue resting in peace. I met new friends this year, Itulumeleng, Esethu, Reitumetse and Nhlosokuhle. They've been friendly towards me. I miss my dad in Swaziland and of course my little sister Tandzile and not excluding my other siblings :Siphosethu who just turned 13, Andile who's 5 and Slie who turning 4 and Alex who's 16. I thank God for my parents especially my mother who has been there for me. This year I also met a special friend Simphiwe Nkumane, he's such a lovely guy, smart, understanding and warm, I'm not sure if we're still together in the future but who knows. Mpile has been away for a long time, I miss him and I wish he could communicate more often, I believe we are still together i.. the future coz I love you Mpile. God please keep my whole family so they can witness my graduation. Now to the future me, I know you did it, you passed so well, and you qualify for an honor's degree and I hope by then you have decided which path you are taking. I do know but perhaps you have a first born by now 😅 but then that would mean you are married, well I hope you are, to my future son or daughter, mommy loves you to bits and pieces you are beautiful. Don't stop believing in yourself, you are a conqueror and you have brought a difference in this world especially empowering women. To my friends in the future, thank you for being a pillar and sister, Nondumiso Sithole I know you are still by side, thanks mngani and my newly found long lost friend Philile Zwane, I hope I haven't lost you again. Congratulations for your graduation Mpumi!!!. To my family, I love you all!!
