A letter from August 9th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, oh. my. god. 5 YEARS!?!? WHATTT I can't even imagine what I must be like. How is college? how is being an adult? Are you on the mainland? do you miss home? How are mom and dad? Jinx and Dezal? Where is Jinx now? How is Dezal doing? Does my room look different? Is society different? Is justice finally served? Are Blacks finally being treated equally? I'm gonna assume you and Kayden are no longer together right? Do you plan on getting back together with him? How is your Spanish? French? German? Do you miss high school? Are you dating someone now? Are you still in contact with your old friends from high school? Is the mainland cool? have I tried more food? How is my fashion style? Do I still like black & white? excited to grow up and start your own family? Do you still want to have kids at 33? Do you know how to do your own laundry now? Must suck huh. How is COVID? how is your money situation? I hope you are still living that dream of luxury and saving money. I hope you get back with Kayden unless someone went wrong. are you dating a Spanish boy? are you with a Cali boy? Did Kayden ever move to the mainland with you? Do you miss Hawaii? How is Grandma? Is she okay? Make sure to call her every day if you can and tell her you love her. Same with mom and dad. How does your Instagram feed look? Still looks nice? You aren't pregnant, right? okay good. if not 0-0 WTF were you thinking. Did you grow at all? how is your hair? Did you cut it short? how is your body doing? you taking care of yourself? Are you still working out? Did you travel anywhere else? Do you miss your highschool teachers? Are you playing any sports in college? (prob not lol) You still singing and making songs? did you make any songs and put them on SoundCloud or Spotify? Do you miss being young? What is the hardest thing about being an adult? Do you still smoke weed? Is your alcohol tolerance better now? Is tik tok still relevant? Study hard! Are the parties fun in college? Did you make any mistakes that you learned from? Today is the last day of summer before I start 10th grade... crazy to think right? It felt like last year I was just in middle school... Life is crazy, remember to say no to things you aren't comfortable with and remember that a guy needs to have consent with you. I hope you still have that aloha spirit in you and that you still have a lot of integrity and love within your heart and that you are happy with your life right now even though it must be quite stressful for you isn't it. I hope you are still making people laugh and smile and that you are able to give people lots of hugs, do people still call you short? Any nicknames? Is there any college drama? How is your makeup skills? Do you finally know how to put on lashes? Are you excited about the big world? getting your own house and starting your own family in a few years... I hope you are gonna get a good high paying job or you created your own company/working for one. Do you still have Spotify premium? Do you still plan on moving back to Hawaii when you are ready to settle down? Currently... I am in my room at 10:24 pm writing this with Elyssa writing her own letters. Are you still procrastinating? If so, FIX THAT LOL. Any regrets of highschool? I am trying to make sure that I try to do everything to make sure you don't have a lot/any. I am proud of you for making it this far. Keep striving and working hard, with your head up and your heart still spreading joy all around. <3
