A letter from July 26th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, Happy 30th birthday!! Oh god, I'll be old by the time I read this again... I want to tell you I love you, and I'm so proud of you for wherever you are right now. It's not been easy, every night you cried at uni was hard, and every time you felt worthless was tough, but it was wrong. I'm finally starting to believe that, and I hope you know it too. Are you working as an engineer still? I hope its something I'm proud of, and that I want to show off to people what a cool job I have. Are you still painting too? I only just started so if you've been practising I would expect you to be pretty good by now, so no pressure! Call mum and dad, tell them you love them. If I only have one wish for the future it's that W is happy and fulfilled in life, give him a hug (even though he'll hate the physical contact). Did Mum and Dad get around to moving and buying that dog? It seems to be all they talk about these days! I'm tempted to ask if you've met someone, and if you've fallen in love (I'm currently dating C, but don't want to jinx anything....). But I hope you're happy with who you are, whatever the current situation is, I just want you to be content. Remember to laugh too loud, cook new things, listen to thunderstorms and make too much mess when you paint. I'm so proud of you, Past You
