A letter from your teenage self

Time Travelled — over 5 years

Peaceful right?

Hey, Mitch. I'm in quarantine right now and thought to write you a letter. As it is, I'm still an awkward teenager. No clue what I want to do with my life. I do know it's your birthday. You're 25 now, aren't you? Holy ****, dude. Time flies quickly, doesn't it? This means you're properly an adult. It's a scary thought for me. Where has life put you? Do you still work at DPD? Did you get hired in the end? I'm so sorry for bombarding you with questions but I just still have no clue where I'm headed. I don't even know what sort of job I want to do. There isn't really a need for rave music in any company it seems. And I'm awful at mixing anyway. Ross said so himself. Speaking of Ross, is he still with Chloe? I'm guessing not seeing as young love doesn't last but maybe I'm wrong. Allow me to remind you of some of your dumbest childhood moments. Remember when you shat yourself in primary school and you became the talk of the school and got teased by teenage girls? Fun times. Remember when you and Hannah got a bunch of toy cars and stuffed your pockets with them while running around the playground with "rattly pockets" trying not to get caught by the dinner women that hated you both? Classic tale. Remember when you and Hannah would always take ages eating lunch because you'd tell stories with your food? The dinner ladies hated you for that. Remember when you and Hannah were passing a note round making fun of Mark? You eventually got sent down to Mrs Partridge and you broke down crying. You knew that at some point in the future, you'd get told off for laughing at something that's not funny so you tried to cover your future self by saying "I easily laugh or cry"? I'm quite certain that Partridge thought you found bullying funny. That one still keeps me up at night. Remember when you, Hannah, Ben, Mark, Tionne, Grace and a few others were all playing with your springy toy thing? The one made of rubber where you drop it from a hight and try to catch it after it hits the floor and bounces up? You loved the attention of that one. I tell you, if I had that many girls around me, I'd be just as happy as you were. Remember on another toy day, you brought in your radio controlled beetle thing with the pincers on the front? You must have been in love. You joined Grace Taylor and played a game where you had to drive the beetle off the counter and into a cup. She basically destroyed your toy and you didn't stop her because your little heart was in love. How sweet! Shame you didn't get together with her, though. Missed opportunity. Remember the OTHER other toy day where Ashley and yourself built a Lego car on your Lego RC base? The one that was basically a pre-built RC car that you could built Lego on? That was fun. You spent the entire day removing bits off it thinking it was too heavy for the poor little motors to handle, when really it was just running out of battery? You learnt your lesson that time! There are loads more. But frankly, it's 20 past 3 at night so I'm going to head to bed. Hope you're okay otherwise. Love you buddy. Yours sincerely, A very awkward teenager P.S, did you start dating Hannah yet?
