A letter from June 18th, 2020

Time Travelled — over 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Think back to the moment you wrote this letter. Reflect. Have you improved or have you sunken lower than ever? Have you achieved my goals or have you failed at them? Do you still remember me? Me, from the past? Think of me now. Do you envy me? Hate me? Find me naive, dumb, misunderstanding, ignorant? Look up at me? Wish you could be me? Or are you still me? Are you depressed? If so, you might be crying while reading this letter. Think back to the year I wrote this letter. Yes, in 2020. Take out the picture which is on your shelf. The one where my hands are sticking out, my face in mid-laugh, while propelling down the ride. Look at it. You might get angry, sad, envious, regretful. Or you might be happy. And if nobody has said this to you yet, hear me say it: Happy birthday. Go celebrate your birthday. Put a smile on your face, even if it may be fake. Do it for me. For me and for you. Are you successful? Are you happy with the place you are in? If so, Stop right now. And hear me say: Congratulations. Pat yourself on the back, and go celebrate. Thank you.
