A letter from June 6th, 2020

Dear Sarah A lot has changed since I sent the last email You are a lesbian. You figured it out during quarantine. You have been in quarantine for at least 10 weeks now. School got cancelled, exams got cancelled and overall life got cancelled. You connected with an old childhood friend Rhiannon. It’s good fun. You have a groupchat together called the three muskaqueers with you Rhiannon and Emily. You met up recently and it was great fun, an Italian man asked for directions and you handled it pretty well. It did rain a lot though. Medi,knife,youaredoingsowell.... they are your best friend right now. They hype you up. They check in on you “how’s the vibe cap’n”. You can be goofy and random together. It’s lovely. They get you, and you get them. Tell them hi from me when you get this letter. I hope they are very happy. Julia and Jessica are still in your life right now, message them to say hi if you can. Ask how uni or college is going. I wonder if they are in a relationship with anyone. And you, Sarah. You’ve come so far. I’m so proud of you. You love yourself, your mental health is good and you’re accepting your ********* finally. It did get better! You made it! 2020 has been one of the worst years. Genuinely. Currently I’m in the middle of the black lives matter protests and petitions and donations because George Floyd was ****** by police. Systemic racism in America is finally being challenged. I hope trump gets out of office and America is less dystopian when you’re reading this. Racism, ****** and homophobia have no place in this world. Hopefully the world is more inclusive and nice. Do you have a girlfriend? Have you had a girlfriend? I hope so. Tell her I say hi, tell her you love her. How’s mum and dad? I hope they are okay. Dads gonna retire by the time you get this letter I think. Text them and tell them you love them! Things are semi going back to normal but more so in England than Scotland. Scotland is being careful. Nicola sturgeon is great!
