A letter from May 20th, 2020

HELLO! AND HELLO TO ANYONE READING THIS ! :). Currently I am 16 and I’m writing this because I’m curious about where I will be in 5 years time. ( UNI hopefully ) I wonder what job you have , whether it be working in McDonald’s or in a cafe part time :) If all else fails become a stripper and make ur money sis Only joking......... 👀 I know that right now I feel like I’ll never find love. after all, growing up in an environment that doesn’t exactly preach ‘loyalty’ and ‘strong marriages’ can make you believe that marriage and vows are simply just words without meaning. So I really hope you’ve found somebody that has taught you what the meaning of love truly is , I hope you’ve fallen hopelessly in love with someone , completely head over heels. I hope he walks into you’re life when you least expect it , I hope he walks into you’re life like he owns the place , takes down your walls and lights your soul on fire. I hope it’s scary , daunting and confusing. Because I guess that’s what love is? I hope you have that moment , the moment everyone experiences. Where you look at them and just know you’ve fallen head over heels in love with them. That’s all I wish for you. Love. Anyways, I hope life is treating you well including your friends and family. I hope you’re well. Do you still want to be a detective? Or have things changed? Have you travelled with your sister yet? Leah and I talked about travelling yesterday and the countries we want to visit together. Korea , Australia , America and NYC. I hope you’re reckless , after all bad choices make good stories ;) I’m guessing that poppy has passed away and as has Nan... if that’s the case I just want you to know she still looks down on you , probably cheering you on or trying to hit on a hot guy friend you know phahah. Also, just remember that moment when you were around 11 and you were walking down the garden together and you asked her “why do birds tweet?” and she said in a soft voice “they’re signing for you.” It was a small moment but for some reason it’s something you remembered. And her cottage that she made in the garden , go give it a clean. She’d like that. Buy a gift for your mother today , there’s no reason. Just do it. After all she’s given you. You know how hard she worked as a single mother to keep a roof above her 3 kids heads. The poverty and money struggles. Buy her something expensive from No7 , her favourite brand. And hey , if your reading this. I wish happiness , love , health and success for you too. I hope that we cross paths one day. And just simply walk past each other without knowing that you ( a stranger ) read this letter I wrote to myself 5 years ago.
