A letter from March 19th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, Up to now,it has been a long long rollercoaster ride (*smiling-cos I haven't even been on a roller coaster ride.).I really don't know what to say to you or to me (Ugggh- everything time can be really messy).But hey your hair is longer now isn't it?. Still as thick too right?. You're gonna be 24 by the time you get this letter,so I expect you to be taller,more graceful,still crazy, completely weird and that ****** smile, brighter. Hey,CoVid- 19 came as quickly as it went, right? How many books have you written?.I can guess- A LOT .How many places have you travelled to?.A lot. And I'm pretty sure you've met Dan Brown now(Yeah Yeah,I'm jealous- you just couldn't wait for me, couldn't you?.And I hope you didn't shriek embarrassingly in front of him. Nope,you did). Have you gone to the Amazon now?.And did Big guy make you learn Chinese?.I can't wait to meet you cos I know by then you'll be stronger, more beautiful, funnier and you still wouldn't have stopped talking like you're the smartest person in the room (Cos you always will be). You are also still saving the world, aren't you?. Gotten any Koala pets yet?.And they also didn't find anything scary after your visit to the cardiologist, right?.Knew it was a false alarm. Baby Girl,2020 you wants 2025 you to know that you'd always remain that girl that'll never realize how great the stuff she doing are until she stops to take a look back. I'm proud of you for being strong . I crazy appreciate you for being as emotional as you are(it'll always be the best part of you).I also want to know if you still are the it's-always-right-to-honestly-express-yourself advocate. I wouldn't mind you writing me a letter too(probably with ink that can travel back in time 😁).You writing me a letter to tell me that everything I'm going through now is just a very short phase in time. That things are gonna become comfortable and our family will be financially stable and we're gonna do well,go places and make impact.I want you to tell me that Dad is still healthy and still calls himself 'young boy'😀.Tell me that I have a gazillion degrees now in a lot of fields. Tell me that the only time I cry is when I want to or when watching mushy movies while stuffing fried plantain in my face. Tell me you and Big Guy are still together, crazy in love and both our families love us being together despite our interfaith and intertribal differences.Tell me the world doesn't divide itself anymore cos of silly things like religion and color. Tell me that your place is really cool and quiet with a garden, library and a mega-kitchen and refrigerator that stores all the goodies of life.That you also dance like crazy and sing like a siren and you still wear **** boots and watch animations and anime. You also make friends everywhere and everyday and still leave people baffled about what a peculiar lady you are. Tell me you still hate hospitals and that you breathe easily without feeling pain in your chest and arms. Tell me,you, that you are still alive and healthy and have stopped doubting if you'll ever get married and make little babies like you. Tell me you still watch the sunrise and sunset and still gawk stupidly at how beautiful the night sky is when ladened with dazzling stars. Tell me you are still in love with life. Tell me you are still in love with humanity and nature. Tell me you are still in love with you. I love you, future me and I can't wait to meet you.
