A letter from January 20th, 2020

Time Travelled — over 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I am writing this letter on January 20th 2020, 3 days before leaving for England. Watching the Quarterback episode from Glee with tears in my eyes. I have no clue what the future holds for me and I am so scared but curious to see what it will hold. You’ll read this on your 25th birthday, boy that sounds old. You’ll have finished your (or my) second degree hopefully, maybe criminology? Either way I absolutely hope you’re doing what you want and have found your passion. Maybe travel the world for a while or au pair somewhere, I just hope it’s making you happy. We both know happiness isn’t a given thing, you need to look for it and want to find it. I really hope you found your happiness, if it’s in a way of a person or doing something. Hope you haven’t lost touch with your old friends, have visited your ibu in Indonesia. If you have lost touch, please reconnect because they mean the world to me. If you’re having an argument, make up because you’ll never know when it’s too late. Live every day like it’s your last because you never know when it is, love like there is no tomorrow and book that frigging trip. Vier elk feestje, like dad said. I hope grannies are still around, oh i really hope so. I can’t stand the thought of losing them, so if they aren’t around anymore. I am so so so sorry, do not ever forget how much they loved you. The sweet loving smile, i love them so much. I hope everybody is doing okay, maybe you have another niece/nephew? Kate is 15 by the time you’re reading this, she will be a teen. Now she’s just a 9 year old baby, she’s growing up way too fast. Dear me, I love you. Go after your dreams, live every day to it’s fullest and have fun. Be happy and to everything to find the spark that keeps you going. Happy birthday, me. Xo
