A letter from August 14th, 2019

Dear Anna, today is your 24th birthday. you should either be out at a party or staying at home, celebrating your birthday with your boyfriend/husband. either way of celebrating is great!! I know you were going through a tough time as you wrote this. A whole lot of stuff. I know you feel stuck in a relationship while writing this. I know you feel you don’t have many friends to hang out/go out with. but as you always said growing up—it gets better. This right now is proof that you’re okay. that it got better. You got through the tough spots growing up. I know you had a tough past. the bullying, some open heart surgeries, the tough parents. But think about it. you made it! you’re 24 turning today. you should be proud of yourself. you had been through a lot as you went from elementary school, middle school and all of high school. but hopefully by now you’ve gotten past that. you’ve grown so much since your worst years in middle school. you’re a strong, beautiful, funny, and outgoing person. you’ve cried so many tears, you’ve put up with slightly abusive relationships, you’ve dealt with people pushing you around. but hopefully by now you understand you only deserve the best and shouldn’t take the ******** from other people. hopefully you have the job you want, the house/apartment you want, the money you want. if you don’t, do not give up hope. you are only 24. you’re still young. you have your whole life to get the money, home, and job you want. hopefully you’re perfectly fine if you’re single at the moment.. don’t rush things. you wanted to graduate high school and college so quick. and now it’s over. don’t wish your life away. you’re going the perfect pace. Remember God has it all in his hands. you are where you’re supposed to be at this exact moment. just please remember that. i love you. please stay safe and smart if you haven’t already. ❤️ xoxo annalise
