Dear FutureMe,
Well happy birthday to you! You're now the big 3-0. How does it feel? I'll tell you what 23 has felt like so far: slow.
As I sit here writing this, you have just finished graduating from college. Congratulations!! So what came next? You put in all this hard work during college and something has to have come of it. Did you get that technical writing job that you just applied for? Where did you end up? Is life all that you hoped it would be? I guess the more important question is, are you happy?
This past year has been a struggle but nonetheless, you came out of it and are starting to rebuild yourself. You've got some of the best supporters by your side and I hope you haven't taken that for granted. Life after college, as everyone knows, is tough and in order to survive it all, you need a good base from which you can stand yourself upon. It's easy for people to just come and go from an individual's life so cherish the individuals around you and never forget to express how much they mean to you.
Now for the age-old question: what is your love life looking like? Everyone deserves love and you are no different. No relationship? I'm not judging. Seriously though, I'm not, I swear. Don't jump into things you're not prepared for. On the other hand, though, maybe you are in a relationship. If you are, I hope that the man you're with is amazing. I hope he is helping you to become a better person each and every day, I hope he never forgets to express how much you mean to him, and I hope that you're, again, HAPPY. You deserve nothing shy of the best because you've earned it.
I can't even imagine all of the great things that you've done so far in life. Have you actually not done anything? Well, that's okay too because, trust me, your future is bright. As corny as it sounds, don't rush life because you only get one. I hope that from here on out, you succeed in all that you do. Even if the results are not instantaneous, don't give up so easily.
You're doing great, Lee. No matter what you may think, you really are. Don't sell yourself short. You've got this.
