A letter from October 25th, 2018

Dear Future Self, It’s me. You from the past. I am the tall, dark haired, 9th grader you used to be. I wonder if you still like the same things as me. Are you still obsessed with Korea? Have you tried coffee yet? Does it still taste like bitter bile? Or are you now obsessed with it, and go to Starbucks everyday? I’m bursting with questions for you but first things first, have you gone to a KPOP concert yet? I mean I am dying to go, but remember how mom said we needed to get the money ourselves? Remember the failed lemonade stand, where the lemonade spilled over asphalt and into the drain, like you crushed dreams falling into nothingness? I just had a thought. What if you don't like KPOP anymore? What do you like? What are your hobbies? What are you majoring in college? All these questions are swirling through my head like a whirlwind and it’s like a selection to choose the best ones. Do you have good memories of high school? I mean so far I really like it but who knows what the future holds? Is your favorite food still fettuccine alfredo from Olive Garden? Or a taco from Chipotle? I feel like this letter is a secret that only me and you understand. A door with one key. Anyway, I have a list of things you need to complete if you haven’t already. Go to at least 10 countries Visit Seoul with your best friend Go to Antarctica Love Your Job! Whatever you do,do with passion. If you don’t like it,don’t do it. Climb the Himalayas Go on a Hot Air Balloon Have Fun. Life is an adventure. Don’t make your path too straight, because then where will adventure come through?
