A letter from September 18th, 2018

Time Travelled — almost 7 years

Peaceful right?

Dear 24-Year-Old Me, I am currently sitting in Financial Management class during my senior year, struggling with meeting the two-page requirement for this letter. It’s the fourth week into school and I’m already wishing it was over. I must have seriously been trying to overload myself when signing up for classes the year before. Along with this class, I am taking trig, English 12, family management, art, anatomy/physiology, and an online marine biology class. I probably bombed the trig quiz I took today and am on the verge of tears thinking about the unit test I have Wednesday. Anyway, how are you? Hopefully, you stuck with college and have your bachelor’s by now. Are you still in zoology/biology? Or did you switch your major? I hope you stuck with biology because I can really see us working in the field somewhere in Africa. Well back to me, the Danish girl I’m hosting is arriving tomorrow. She seems very nice and I hope you keep in touch with her. She asked a couple of days what I have planned to do, but I don’t have many ideas. Maybe rolling blading, I like to do that. Homecoming is coming up and as usual, I’m going solo. It’s more fun that way. Well, I’m almost at a page; I really should have started this earlier instead of looking up FutureMe emails on the website. Some of them were wack. So how are your days going? Are you still single? Hopefully, you are, 17 years old me doesn’t want to get married and definitely doesn’t want any kids. Stay focused on your career! Currently, I am working at The Heart of Michigan Cafe in Clare as a cook. I really only work there for the free coffee. You should go back and see them, maybe they’ll remember you. If they are still open. How’s the family? The girls are currently 12. Did Kenna ever pass you in height? She’s almost as tall as me right now. Cayla is exactly like me right now, she keeps borrowing my books. Dad just got back from a week-long hunting trip in Wyoming. Did the family move to South Carolina after the girls graduated? We always said we would. Are Nana and Papa still alive? If so, spend as much time as possible with them, they always made you smile. Go visit grandma too, she always liked to hear from you even if she’d never admit to it. What do you look like now? Did you finally dye your hair strawberry blonde again? Right now, you have blonde hair. Hopefully, you don’t have brown hair, it won’t look good on you. So if you're reading this we obviously made it through Donald trump’s reign, hopefully, he didn’t tick off too many people while he was president. Who’s the president now? Did you vote for them or someone else? I’m ready to graduate, but I don’t like thinking about college. I don't like that I have to decide where I'm going this early in my life. I'm thinking of going to SVSU after high school but I’m not for sure. I was just applying for colleges last night, it’s very nerve-racking. Erin Weeks and I were talking about getting an apartment together if I go to SVSU. I think it’d be a good idea, but I might not go out of my comfort zone and meet new people if I don’t stay in a dorm. Today is now Tuesday and my Danish girl is here at school. She is very nice and we have a few things planned to do after school. Desiree has reigned me into going to her senior pictures so I guess Stephenie will get to see how Americans take senior picture. Well, I’m going to wrap this letter up, with it’s good to talk to you. Maybe you thought reading this was a waste of time or maybe you got a laugh out of it, either way, hi and goodbye. Hopefully, you’re doing well still.
