Dear FutureMe,
This is me.
This is me writing you a letter and I'm freaking out because I just hit 2.1k readers on my current story.
And this is me telling you in hope you think I'm silly for being so excited over such a small number.
I don't know who you are, what you came to be. I know you did learn some pretty cool words after you finished reading cmbyn because Aciman's vocabulary has me checking on the Merriam Webster app each two seconds, but I have no clue whatsoever what you did with those words.
I know that whatever you're writing about now, is the best thing you've ever written. I trust you enough to keep going the same way I am, giving your all wether it's 18 or 256 people reading (accurate numbers there)
Uncertainty bites at me. Maybe next week you'll change your mind completely in what you wanna do, or maybe in one year time you'll watch everything slither towards the edge on an abyss and do nothing about it, even if it means you'd have spent your time in school in vain because you're working at a goddamned office with people you hate and acting like a machine would.
This is why i want to do this in the first place. To let people know you don't have tot be a machine you get somewhere, because let's get real... A machine could pretty much do your job better than you do.
If I let myself be coerced, I'd be studying the **** out of those stupid overpriced books they demand at school, but instead, I'm here learning as many words as I can to explain to people why what they teach you at school is ********.
I don't mean to underrate your so worked-hard-to-get med degree. I mean someone with a brain that resembles mine was clever enough to come up with a machine that could do your job faultless and effortlessly. Then your so worked-hard-to-get med degree is under appreciated by itself.
People in school try to program human brains to function as machines, and I have to remind you there was this one dude that probably sat on the back of the class and thought "If they trying to turn us into a machine I might as well come up with the machine itself", and although I hate machines, this dude has to be the smartest one o earth.
Machines were made so you wouldn't have to operate as one, but who am I to even say anything if that's your endgame.
Go there little machine brains, study 14 hours a day!!
I bet machine creator guy worked even harder so you wouldn't have to.
Also... Are you reading this on TV? I have this crazy feeling you are. Please be!!
I don't know you, future Isabele. But I do hope, from the very bottom of my heart that you can look down at all those ***** from high school back in Brazil and just yell "EAT IT, *****!" at them.
Love,
an unbeknownst hopeless aspiring writer longing accomplishment.
