Dear FutureMe,
Happy 25th birthday! I hope you're happy today, I mean, you've lived a quarter of a century. I hope you still have your best friends, and that you have a job (because working makes us happy) and that you finally have a place of your own and either a cat or a dog or both (and I hope you named it/them something weird).
I hope you no longer struggle so much with your self-esteem. I hope that you finally look in the mirror and are happy with what you see, no matter what size you are.
I hope that you are loved, and that you have not forgotten what it is to love, truly. I hope that you have not settled. (Oh PLEASE don't have settled! If you have then leave him, right now!)
I hope that you are making a difference in the world still, one person at a time. Your passion was people; meeting, conversing, learning, studying. That's why you majored in Psychology, remember? It wasn't so you could be a therapist, it was so you could actually learn something you were interested in. (I hope that you don't regret majoring in Psychology. I know it's not going to do much good financially, but it's what you wanted to learn.)
I hope that you are still open-minded enough to listen and learn, stubborn enough to keep tying when the going gets tough and honest enough to be real with people, including yourself.
Much Love,
CurrentMe
