Dear Future Me,
I'm not sure if you'd still remember ever doing something like this 5 years back. Seems a little silly, yes. But what the heck, there really is no harm in doing this.
Whatever you're doing now, or wherever you may be, I hope you're still believing and trusting in God. I know you'd struggle along the way - you'd question, you'd doubt, you'd want to give up; but no matter what has transpired over the years, I hope you've finally found your peace in Him.
And on the career front, I hope you've not regretted your decisions along the way. I can't be sure that you'd still be a teacher at this point in time. But if you are, I hope you're deriving immense satisfaction from changing lives and moulding minds and even though it may feel like you're stuck in a thankless job at times, I hope you'd never forget the fact that you may be the last person who is able to lend a helping hand to a troubled student out there. If you've already made a career change, I hope you're genuinely happy with what you're doing now and that you're not doing a job purely because of the monetary benefits.
Of course, at this time, I sincerely hope that you've finally found love - that special someone who will appreciate you for who you are. Someone who tells you you are beautiful even when you feel like you're not; someone who believes in you and listens to what you say and even what you don't say. Someone whom you can share comfortable silences with and never finding those moments dull.
I hope your family is healthy and your brother has achieved his goal of graduating from UK. And, somewhere in the near future, you're preparing to take a year off to travel to south america for a year.
But most of all, I hope you're happy with your life right now and you're living without any regrets.
