Time Travelled — about 5 years

A letter from your (almost) 25 year old self

Mar 29, 2009 Apr 09, 2014

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, If you're reading this on the intended day you're now 30. Hopefully with a few more years hindsight behind you you've by now realised what a beautiful, intelligent and sexy woman you really are, because whilst you want you believe that you are all these things at the age of 25, you don't. And it would kill me to think that you've spent the last 5 years still not believing in yourself. This year (2009) your girls are 5 and 1. When you're reading this you'll have a 10 year old, a 6 year old, and hopefully a 3(ish) year old! I hope you've gained more confidence in yourself as a mother, because even though you're far from perfect, you do the best job that you can and you love your children more than anything and nobody can ask you for anymore than that. I also hope you've gained more confidence in yourself as a wife. Your husband loves you, he doesn't see the overweight, self conscious person that you are at 25, he sees the sexy woman that he married and wants to spend his life with. I hope you bit the bullet and made the move up north. Life's too short to always be as scared as you are right now. Above all, I hope that you're genuinely happy. That you've made peace with your inner demons and learnt to love the person that everybody else sees. That you laugh lots and enjoy your life. If there's anything I want to tell you, it's this. Money is tight at the moment, things are hard, but by reading this you obviously got through all that and came out on the other side a stronger person. I am struggling now so that you don't have to, so that you can sit back, be at home with your children and live the life you've always dreamed of. So, Happy Birthday future me. Here's hoping that you're doing something fantastic to celebrate, and remember, you don't look a day over 25!!
