Dear Emma,
I hope you're having a good last couple of days working with TNC! By now, you've moved apartments and are nearing the end of your MSJ program. You've likely applied to a lot of jobs as well, and I hope you're taking time to breathe and recover. Remember, it isn't a reflection on you or your self-worth if things aren't going as planned yet. And if they are going as planned, honestly, I will be shocked! Take things one day at a time and know that you have a support system around you that is rooting for your success.
I'm curious to know what you've learned throughout this internship, and if it's led anywhere interesting. Some reflection points: what has it been like to work for a huge, global organization? Have you mastered Meltwater and/or made any connections through using it? How did you feel about working in the office occasionally? Are you considering journalism, comms, or both?
Right now, you're staunchly dedicated to journalism, and to some extent, I still hope that you are. But things change, and our paths will change or shift as well. Not a bad thing! Just remember that you're a storyteller.
I wonder what life looks like 10 weeks from now, and maybe you're wondering the same thing. We've always been nomads and people who like to try new things. Most of all, I just hope you're happy and healthy and getting outside. Onward and upward! Remember all the love in your life.
Love,
Emma (from 10 weeks ago) :)
