Dear Future Me,
You are twenty-five right now and I hope you have accomplished what you have set out your mind to. As of now in the context of this letter you are a twenty-two-year-old transfer student at UHD enrolled in the Early Childhood Development through sixth grade with the Bilingual supplement program! I also hope as a current future educator that by now Social Justice, equal opportunity for everyone regardless of race, financial status, cultural identity, etc. is being actively practiced. That just treating children of all backgrounds with higher expectations is not the only thing being contributed to providing an equitable education but rather challenging stereotypical perspective and discrimination is being practiced. I hope that by now you are able to provide students with a safe school environment that seeks students’ full potential and an advocate for equality in providing students with resources that promote social change and bring forth their skills and strengths to provide a diverse and comfortable multicultural classroom setting.
