A letter from September 8th, 2020

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, In case you didn’t know already, the year is 2020. Yes it’s THAT year. If the world hasn’t already ended by the time you receive this letter then treat yourself to a gin. Which brings us to the main body of this letter. I’m just going to ask a few questions so you can laugh and reflect. Hopefully by this point you’ve completed university. I dunno, are you a primary teacher just now? 1. Are you still in love with Taron Egerton? 2. Is Elton John still alive? 3. Who would I be surprised at has came out as a criminal? 4. Are you happy? When did you realise that you are happy? 5. Are you still with Cammy? 6. Did you find a hobby? 7. Who are your friends? (If you have any) 8. Do you still like Drag Race, and Brooklyn 99? 9. Did you ever get to wear your prom dress? 10. Do you hate me? Follow up to that last question there. I’m sorry if I’ve done something this year that’s affected your future. I couldn’t have known. You might think I could’ve, but I’m wracking my brain just now and I don’t think there’s anything I could’ve done differently this year, other than not got Gus and not got fat. I wrote a letter to me 1 year in advance (so it would arrive in 2021) and it was a lot deeper and more emotional than this one. I guess I’m just trying not to upset me or you. If you’re still around to read this letter then wow. I’m proud of you. Keep going. Love, me x
