A letter from May 18th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, you are 18 years old. I hope you know what you want now because otherwise I know you’re having a crisis and this is not good. Before I ask you, or me, or us, or we questions. I want you to know I’m proud of you. It’s been good and bad and sad and happy and lonely and you did it. You are an adult, you or I or we will be shocked to receive this letter because its from fives years ago and we will be five years into the future. No matter the answer to these questions , I know you are on the right path and please don’t freak out because I know me, you, i, us and that we are freaking out as it is time to make decisions to decide our future but i know you are doing exactly what you need. I can imagine its been pretty lonely, its been lonely since day one and you know that, doesn’t mean that people weren’t there and you didn’t have friends but no one has ever fully gotten you...yet. There will be a time when you will find that person. I love you, mom loves you, dad loves you, and your grandma’s love you. Over the years I can imagine things have changed, anatomically, internally, mentally, and in many other ways. Please be yourself, if no one likes that screw them because its worked for you for years and that’s definitely enough. Just remember an end can be sad but an end is a beginning in a different form. Are we moving to New York for college because if we are I’m excited and hope we don’t freeze. I currently want to major in Marketing or Business is that what you are doing right now? Did you end up moving like we planned? ALSO we are currently in a pandemic, how is that going. I think its going to be okay. Please give a listen to the song Mr. Lonely by Tyler the Creator. Did you ever go to his concert or Frank Ocean? I guess Timothy Chalamet is REALLY old now, but right now everyone is in loovvvve with him. Oh also what’s your IQ, please don’t be dumb. That would be disappointing :( . How do you feel about yourself? Also did you ever pursue track, basketball, volleyball, cheer, or dance? Currently I feel pretty good about myself and have pretty good self esteem and skipped a grade! Oh did you skip 2 grades or just one?Or even more?! What’s your favorite food? DO YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND? Did you have one? Have you met your soulmate? I hope so..oh maybe your reading this letter with them? Or on your own hahaha, you have always been popular but never wanted the attention. I hope your sense of fashion is fabulous and on par. Am i (2020 me) cringey? What’s the best dream you ever had? I hope you answered these truthfully and I’m tired of typing its been an hour or a little more hahaha bye, ciao, adios, love ya :)))))
