Dear Future Me (aka. University graduate) from university freshman

Sep 22, 2015 Apr 15, 2020

Peaceful right?

Dear Future Me (aka. University Graduate!! Ah!! That seems so exciting right now!!) At the moment you wrote this letter you had just finished your first university quiz in "Intro to statistics" two weeks into your 5 year university course. You almost cried because you didn't know the material and only had 5 minutes to complete it. After doing the best you could (only answering 1 of the 3 questions) You then proceeded to sit in the bathroom stall and type this letter so you didn't have to face the world and so that you could calm down and get a hold of yourself. The first two weeks of school have been the scariest adventure and biggest change of our 18 year old lives. (I refer to us as two people because I know that by the time you receive this letter you'll have learned so much that you'll be a different person.) We met numerous new people and began to learn how to navigate the university campus. We visited Kayla at her dorm at Crandall and Skyped Sarah at NBCC a number of times. We miss them desperately and want nothing more than to be called someone's best friend again and to see familiar faces. :( Our new friend Kennedy has been hanging out with us but it's nothing like having friends who've known you for years. University is so different than high school. Its so hard to find a new normal. I don't like this change yet. I don't like feeling on my own and dependent on only me to get things done. I don't like having to pay for things like Lucille (our car) or books or tuition. People keep saying university is the best thing that's ever happened to them. I don't know if that's true. Right now it sucks. Future me, I hope by the time you receive this letter you've either graduated university or you're about to in just a couple weeks. I hope you learned how to study, manage your time and have a huge support system of best friends who are there to support you every step of the way. Maybe you've even met a prince charming <3 (That would be so sweet). Right now I really hope you do meet someone, but who knows. Maybe I'll be single-and-ready-for-a-Pringle (as Stephanie likes to say) forever. However, I mostly hope that you've grown immensely in your faith in Jesus Christ. I hope where ever we end up at this point, that we've prayed about it. That we've searched for the answer in God's word. That we know for sure that God wouldn't have us any other place. Where God would have us is the best place to be!! Now you're about to begin what is probably even scarier and more exciting than what we're doing now. Applying for jobs as an elementary school teacher or maybe we're planning for a wedding or baby (probably not the baby part though, but a girl can dream). I want you to know and remember that its going to be okay. God has his hand on our life and were going to make it through the thick and the thin. He would never allow something in our life that was to much for us to handle. He loves us and wants us to trust him. YOU CAN DO THIS!! Lots of Love, Bethany from 2015 (Who you probably now think was really immature had very limited knowledge of life.)
