A letter from the past
Dear Me,
You use to have such a hard time discovering who you were and tended to be shy and reserved due to that. I love you came later in life when you started to understand who you were and by surrounding yourself with people who made you feel comfortable. The year you realized you were gay was the year you truly started to love yourself in a way you never felt. You hid a piece of yourself for so long in order to get a job for your talent and not pushed away because you were gay. The more you came out and lived a true life the more you said I Love You to yourself. You are finding that barriers you built are being knocked down, insecurities are going away, and your pursuit to make the world a more accepting place is changing your life. You have had difficulty as a teacher being allowed to fully be yourself but you don’t stop let that stop you from loving yourself. I need you to know that what your are doing is inspirational and changing the lives of those you educate and beyond. It doesn’t matter what life throws at you because you find the positive and keep fighting to make progress. You have so much to be proud of and you living an authentic life with no regrets is making your life more profound. Never stop loving you for who you are and know that being gay is the greatest joy you could’ve been given. I love you and love seeing that rainbow shine bright every day. Be you, Be Queer, and never stop showing the world that you belong! I love you always and forever!
