A letter from the past
Dear Karla,
Thanks for being you. You've got a great heart, you take time to notice others and their needs and how to help improve their lives -while sometimes neglecting your own. I know you struggle not to feel guilty in taking the time to focus on meeting your own needs, but remember that you can't pour out of an empty cup. Others can't easily receive your message to live our best lives if we see you neglecting your own. So please dream big and go for your dreams and believe in yourself, knowing that truly will bless others too and help them to do it themselves.
Your heart's desire is to better other people's lives, not harm them. To have deep and real connections. To live authentically by celebrating your triumphs but also fully experiencing and walking out your failures without hiding, learning from them and growing -and inviting others to do the same.
I appreciate how you strive to find the light and shine it in the midst of dark days. You're formidable in the face of hopelessness, although you struggle at times, your faith in God comes through and you always rise up and stand strong. Don't get too discouraged at the times you don't rise up immediately and your knees feel weak -because in the end, He's always got you and you always find your way back to Him through every trial.
You'd be a good leader. I hope you find the courage to believe that and step out of the shadows and step up to the calling in your life to be a beacon of light and shine for others to see the path, and not be afraid to lead them in following it.
I love that you continue to seek to understand yourself and others, and to gain knowledge and wisdom to live out your best life. I love that you'll share your triumphs and failures with others to help them in their own journeys.
I hope you'll learn to trust others enough to allow them access to the full measure of your heart, struggles, and love. You have a lot to offer. You're not too much, or too difficult to be around. AND it's OK for not everyone to love everything about you. No one loves everything about anyone -don't give into the fear of rejection by not even trying. You've got a lot of great gifts to give to others, don't shy away any more, but dive in and dare to come fully alive.
Life is short, live it fully.
Love,
Me
