Dear me,
You are freaking awesome. I know you look in the mirror and see a castaway. I know you feel like an orphan.
But look deeper into your eyes. Within those blue eyes I see compassion. You give so much love and empathy to the people around you. You give extravagantly of your time and your listening ear. You love deeply. Within those eyes I see intelligence. I see a girl who questions the world and finds answers. Staring through the mirror into my own eyes I see a girl who survived twenty years of abuse and didn’t just survive but rose and thrived and grew courageously and learned to live.
Dear me, you are a badass. A beautiful, strong, smart, loving badass.
