Dear FutureMe,
You are fourteen years old and are probably happy and reluctant that 8th grade is finally over and you have graduated from middle school. This is you from one year ago, at the end of seventh grade. I have come to write you this letter to help you remember the past school year and move forward to high school.
Over the past year, I have changed significantly. You became more mature and probably more grumpy, but you still had a positive outlook on life. You made more new friends and learned to share your interests. You became better at multitasking and also balancing schoolwork and extracurriculars.
Your favorite memories in 7th grade included celebrating your first Diwali with Parnika. During Diwali, your friend invited you and her other friends to her house at 8 pm. We lit small fireworks and ran away to watch the fireworks spin and flower. Then, you experienced the snappers and rollers. Afterwards, your friend’s mom took a picture of all of you with her annoying brother.
Over winter break, you went to Las Vegas to experience the wonders there, such as the cola company and Omega Mart, those cute daikon plushies that were too expensive, you also watched flamingos and took photos with them. In spring break, you went to San Diego, watching those cute pandas and red pandas in San Diego Zoo and watching orcas perform and sea otters play in Sea World.
One year ago, your favorite colors were aqua, purple, and pink. You loved reading books, eating cheetos and snacks, watching Youtube, and also playing Genshin Impact on the weekends. You would have crocheted cute animals, but you couldn’t make time and you gave your yarn to your friends. You made friends during the 2nd semester in 6th period PE, Sophia Martez and Charlotte Yang. I hope you still remember them and save their emails in your contacts.
Some acquaintances you've made are Blandon from table tennis class, and Jason and David in math class when they convinced you to try Eaglercraft. That was quite dumb of you to defend your base using a bow at close range.
I hope that when you do have the time that you learn to crochet and gain more interests. Challenge yourself and do an activity out of your comfort zone, go basic ziplining, or conquer your fears.
Let’s talk about high school. You will have to lock in in high school because high school grades matter! Do a club in high school based on your interests and do one requiring leadership. And don’t tire yourself out!
Do you have a phone yet? What new interests do you have?
Sincerely,
You from one year ago
